The long-awaited parcel arrived, containing the review copies of They Do Things Differently Here, the first book in my Invisible College Trilogy. This is the first time I have seen the the physical book. Beautifully produced, with bright white paper, its most striking feature is the cover design, based on an image I chose well before the writing was complete.

The design is based on a 19th century engraving entitled ‘Universum‘, from which my publisher has commissioned a breathtaking coloured version. It is very relevant to the storyline, as will be revealed in Books 2 and 3 of the trilogy. We plan to incorporate the same design theme on all three covers.

Book 1 is available now; books 2 and 3 are scheduled for publication before the end of 2015, providing Young Adult readers with the opportunity to read all quarter of a million words of the dystopian trilogy without having to wait too long for each to appear in print (or ebook). I promise they will not be disappointed.
