Cover Reveal

I am pleased to reveal the cover of my latest book, Conditions Are different After Dark. It will be released on 26th April 2024 and can be pre-ordered from Amazon and booksellers. I agreed the design with my publisher, Burton Mayers Books, following consideration of a few alternatives.

I love the simplicity of the design. Book browsers will have a good idea of what they will be buying before they pick it up. The dark background suggests night-time; the orange lettering conveys a sense of menace and foreboding. The slight difference in colouring of the title and author name distinguishes them and makes them more readable.

The corn dolly adds intrigue. I commissioned it from a leading UK practitioner of the art. How is it relevant to the story? I will post more details about its design and maker soon.
